BLOODY DEVASTATED BY THE NEWS!!! SURELY NOT?
Rod Eglin, Whitehaven

Enjoyed the festival on the saturday excellent. Pity Northern rail didnt provide a late train to Barrow or a Sunday service South of Whitehaven. looking forward to 2009!!!
Gerald Robins, Barrow-in-Furness

I think that more info on the 'park & ride' could have been provided. It was not clear from the website or any of the adverts as to where the P&W was. Visitors do not know where the areas are, all that was provided was a name not how to get to it.

Fantastic event, we had relatives with us for the weekend and they loved it...fab

On behalf of The Marratimes. Big Thanks to all at the Whitehaven Maritime Festival, Organizers & punters alike for a great weekend of gig's and a great weekend out. Early reports suggest a record turnout of over 300,000, a real event in such a small town, for which we are very proud to have taken part. Here's to the Next one.
Steve, Whitehaven

Great event, thank you to all your organisational efforts. My only comment is that the number of junk food stalls was excessive, which was worsened by the associated smell of low quality meat. I would be interested to know the exact number of such stalls. For the next event, please add a bit of class to the food outlets. How about an international food court? Food stalls could include a Cumbrian food stall amongst Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, Indian and European? I hope that my comments will produce a favourable result. Thank you. Jeff.

Very good firework display on Saturday night! Enjoyed it, thanks!

This is the Third Maritime Festival We have attended and and it was excellent and as promised each event does get bigger and better. Hats off to the organisers. All your hardwork is much appreciated. Looking forward to 2009. Any news gratefully received. Come rain or shine we don't mind.

Alan, Whitehaven

Came down from Scotland on sat morn. Stayed with friends overnight sat. Had a great weekend, what a show. Gerard & team should be awarded for such a show come on local council. The only complaint was the overpriced food on harbour. With all the weather experts saying rain, rain, rain. How did you manage to get a great weekend weather ? Magic guys we even got sunburnt on sunday. Fireworks were wonderful. Well done Whitehaven you can be proud !!
Hugh Mann, Livingston Scotland

great time weather was nice saturday good band on stage, good day out but chips at two pounds a bag come on ,not worth there salt, thanks whitehaven will visit again

The 2007 Whitehaven International Maritime Festival was defintely world class. I have been to a number of similar events over in mainland Europe and of course each of the previous Maritime Festivals held in my hometown of Whitehaven. The 2007 festival was excellent and the weather made no difference whatsoever. Come rain or shine Whitehaven is the place to be. It is as good as anything that London, Manchester, Liverpool, Amsterdam or Marseille could out on with all their resources those cities have at their disposal. It is to the great credit of Gerard Richardson and the team of volunteers that Whitehaven is now THE place to be when the Maritime Festival is being held. Well done and a big thank you to all those who made it happen.

Caz, Cleator Moor

hey thanks for a great weekend, i was a pirate on the Zebu/Vilma going Bang and Pop i was just wondering if there was any photo's of us lot doing our show? i really enjoyed the show and I hope all of you that saw us all enjoyed it to Thanks All
Fai, Preston

To Jane of Gosforth, don't worry your taxed money is safe. The money raised to finance the festival does not come from the public purse it comes from sponsership and donations and is organised by a team of dedicated and unpaid volunteers who give freely a large amount of thier personnel time and effort to make the festival the success that it is.
Mark , Cumbria

A fantastic festival, beats the others. Many thanks to the organisers for a great show. All the very hard work is worth it. Well done all! It would have been nice if more announcements had been made for the closing ceremony on the Sugar Tongue. Only just caught it.
Rod Eglin, Whitehaven

Fantastic event well done! We had a fantastic time, everything was well set up and run. Awsome firework display
Seve Hallett, Ravenglass

I think this was the best festival yet...what do you think?
Keith, Whitehaven

excellent festival really enjoyed it,nice to see all the local takeaway shops busy, thought the prices on the harbour for food a bit overpriced.
Dalton, Whitehaven

A fantastic maritime festival. Congratulations to the organisers. More litter bins next time please. Otherwise fantastic
Todhunters, Cumbria

I might be looking forward to this year's festival if I could get some info as to how we could get there! You say there are extra trains on, rail timetables say nothing running on Sunday. Park and ride too difficult with my disabled friend, have searched your website with the word "disabled" and nothing was found, so I cannot be sure of any parking provision if I fight through the crowds with the car. Thanks for failing a local taxpayer Whitehaven!
Jane, Gosforth

Even tho i live in whitehaven, ive never been down to the festivals due to working alot.. but i did manage to get myself down this year and really found it intresting. Nice to see so many things to do and look at. Only thing i dont like is them burger vans all around the harbour charging £4.00 for a thin sticky beef burger. ;)
Ste, Whitehaven

The best website and information to date. Much improved also is the programe, loads of info, well done all
