Lowther Street
Lowther Street is the main artery through the town and is a very pleasant walk from the harbour to the Castle and back down each side.
Close to the harbour is one of the towns most established Estate Agents, Tiffens.
One of the more traditional shops is Richardson's of Whitehaven. Specialising in Fine Wines, Coffee Beans, Olive oils etc, they do fabulous hampers at Christmas. They also have a Corporate Catering division which can be contacted by e-mailing catering@richardsonswines.co.uk  www.richardsonswines.co.uk
Further up the street towards the Castle and opposite the civic hall is the computer specialist, AKCS. A wide range of Computers, Laptops and accessories are available here and the staff are very freindly and willing to pass on their knowledge.                              http://www.akcsltd.com/
As you proceed up Lowther Street, past the castle, it becomes Inkermann Terrace, a lovely walk lined with large Victorian houses. One of these has been tastefully converted into the fabulous Glenfield Guest House run by run by Margaret and Andrew.
